‘Last Chance (HS)To See’ – Soundscape 3:

‘Edgcote Lodge and Danesmoor’

The soundscape from the best viewing point over the historic valley

11th April 2019

This location gives a spectacular view across Danesmoor and up the higher reaches of the Cherwell valley. It will also give a grandstand view of HS2 crossing on an embankment to the Cherwell Viaduct at nearby Trafford Bridge.

I discovered this valley almost forty years ago. It’s a natural amphitheatre set in a relatively tranquil location – the last place I heard a curlew locally some years ago. Walking from Banbury it’s an beautiful day’s walk, promising a picnic on the small hill in the centre of the valley that gives commanding views across the area.
