Sheet J2 in the Free Range 'Community-Linux Training Centre' Project's
'Free and Open Source Systems Guide'
series of handouts looks at The Gnu/Linux System
The alternative to proprietary computer systems.
From the point of view of Windows users, where you don't
necessarily have to understand what you're doing to make the
machine work, Gnu/Linux can seem a complicated and difficult
thing to get your head around. In reality, whilst you might have
to become a little more "involved" in using your
computer, the benefits especially better security, lower
costs and far less vulnerability to viruses will outweigh
the costs of learning to use a different system.
